Lenovo has confirmed the arrival, by the end of October, of its first Windows 8 tablet, the ThinkPad Tablet 2, based on a x86 Intel Atom signed.

The announcement made Thursday by Lenovo confirms the leak occurred on the Web: the Chinese manufacturer will join the launch of many Windows 8 with a touch pad of his own, the Thinkpad Tablet 2. It will adopt the format 10.1 inches, with an IPS panel display 1366 x 768 pixels.

While it provided no further details of the exact configuration, Lenovo has confirmed that its forthcoming tablet embark signed an Intel Atom processor, it likely belongs to the family Cloverview, engraved in 32 nanometers, which will be announced by the launch of Windows 8.


The Thinkpad Tablet 2, 9.8 mm thick, will acknowledge approximately 600 grams on the scale. Lenovo promises a battery life of around 10 hours, a module 3G / 4G optional micro HDMI output and a USB port full format. The tablet also will carry two photo sensors, one 8-megapixel on the back and the other 2-megapixel on the front.

Optionally, Lenovo will sell a docking station, a digital pen, keyboard and a trackpad taking up traditionally associated with Thinkpad laptops.

The Thinkpad Tablet 2 will be launched along with Windows 8, whose output is programmed to 26 October. No price has yet been communicated.
